Thermaltake Mozart SX Angle

Home Theatre or Media Centre PC's are a recent revolution on the PC market stage. We have all seen the advertising for these ready made machines of wonder that will control your media experience around the home with ease but each time I looked at all the different combinations from various manufacturers, I couldn't find one that suited my personal needs and, to add insult to injury, the prices didn't fit my pocket!

Searching for ways to overcome the dilemmas of finding a suitable machine and the inadequacies of my wallet, I had the rare event of a brainstorm ;-) , and decided to try and design and build my own.

My Build

My Media Centre build was to replace all my other entertainment gadgets so I have only one "box" to do all and was to be placed in my living room. So it had to replace:

1. Freeview box
2. Video recorder
3. DVD player/recorder
4. Hi Fi/Radio
5. Living room PC

It also had to be easy to operate for everyone and not a technical scare machine. People that wouldn't normally touch computers had to feel at ease with it and it had to all operate from one single remote control. The remote control had to be able to switch it on and off meaning there is no need for anyone ever to touch it apart from putting in DVD's, CD's etc.
